Pilar Racecourse Kayaking. This is not an hardshell kayak, which is heavy and cumbersome, particularly for the Rio Grande, which can run low. In fact, when I ran the Rio Grande, it was at the lowest recorded levels, according to the river guides. They were encountering rocks they did not encounter on previous days. The pictures in the top row were shot by photographer, and they came out pretty clear, and are the more interesting of the lot, if only because I almost (I said almost...) slipped out of the Kayak. The bottom eight have a sunscreen-lotion haze on it.
